The Mechanics Behind Diablo 4’s Reliquary System Explained
Reliquaries in Diablo 4 represent a new approach to seasonal rewards, replacing the traditional Battle Pass with a more flexible and player-friendly system. Introduced in Season 8, Reliquaries use Favor tokens earned through gameplay to unlock cosmetics from themed catalogs, allowing players to choose which rewards to pursue and in what order.
There are two types of Reliquaries: Battle Pass Reliquaries, available throughout the season, and Event Reliquaries, which appear during special events. The second-anniversary Reliquary is an Event Reliquary, free for all players and featuring exclusive anniversary-themed rewards.
Players earn Favor tokens by defeating enemies and completing quests, which can then be spent on unlocking items such as armor skins, weapon transmogs, mounts, and emotes. This system removes the linear progression of old Battle Passes and introduces greater player agency and customization d4 buy gold.
